Cat Throw Up concerns, fears, remedy

The cat may, without apparent reason, throw up at will.    It is true that the cat can throw up easier than most other animals. Throwing up is the most common non-specific likely to experience with your companion child. When the cat vomits once or twice but seems perfectly normal before and after the problem is no big deal.  

All Vomiting is the result of stimulating the vomiting center in the brain by many receptors located in the gastrointestinal tract and elsewhere.  As the need to vomit is felt, the cat appears anxious and may ask for attention and comfort.  You will also see the cat begin to salivate and make repeated attempts to swallow.

Swallowing hair or other indigestible foreign are the most common reason.  This kind of vomiting is not serious.  Other lesser cases of overeating, eating too quickly, exercising immediately after eating.   This can be the result of feeding several kittens from one pan, which encourages fast feeding.    Separation of kittens or feeding small meals often eliminates this issue. The queens will vomit a pre-nourished meal to encourage her kittens to start eating solid food.

There are several diseases and upsets associated with regurgitation.  These necessitates seeing a veterinarian as soon as possible.  Vomiting unrelated to diet is often a sign of an infectious disease.  Among the diseases connected with vomiting is kidney or liver disease, or a central nervous system condition, feline panleukopenia, tonsillitis, sore throat, inflammation intestine and infected uterus.  Severe infestation of the internal parasite can cause stomach upset, which is obvious because the parasite may be visible.  Blood in the vomit, persistent vomiting, digestive food vomit are signs more series concerns.   Please contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.   What listed below is list of treatment ideas for the non-serious vomit issues.

Hairball

  1. Add ½ teaspoon of mineral oil, olive oil or coconut oil to wet foods.  Okay try with dry food.   
  2. Place a small tiny bowl
  3. Cat can’t stand stuff on their nose place small amount of cooking oil on the nose
  4. Use the Store brought paste as directed
  5. Add fiber to the diet – example Pumpkin powder for cats or other over the counter fiber supplements for cats

Greedy – slow the eating

  1. Feed small meals
  2. Separate cats from each other when feeding
  3. Use automatic portion control cat feeder
  4. Use Kitty slow feed bowls
  5. Try indoor hunting cat feeder kits
  6. Feed Pate instead of shreds, cuts, chops 
  7. Use large kibble size dry food

Exercising after feeding

  1. Provide exercise before feeding
  2. Change feeding times
  3. Separate for at least 30 minutes after feeding
  4. Eliminate opportunity for Physical encounters.  Cat fights will cause vomiting and pooping.
